Racquets Club of Short Hills  - Pool Director - Seasonal

Job Description:


Pool Director MUST be a Red Cross Certified Life Guard and possess a current 
Certified Pool Operator (CPO) Certificate at a minimum. The Pool Director with Racquets Club of Short Hills is a seasonal position with the Club and is of great importance. Seasonal position will be compensated bi-weekly at $21 per hour for the season which runs Memorial Day?? The primary responsibility of this position is to maintain a safe and sanitary pool environment for our members and their guests. The pool season opens on the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend ??? and finishes on Labor Day. There are several shifts of work that will be necessary prior to the season open and after the season closes.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Superintendent of Recreation is responsible and accountable for the creation and operation of Recreational programming within the Bergen County Department of Parks & Recreation. The Superintendent shall plan, promote, organize, and implement a comprehensive recreation program addressing the passive and active recreational needs of park users of all ages. Recreational opportunities that exist within the Bergen County Parks system currently include but are not limited to: field sports, aquatics, golf, equestrian, tennis, camps, rowing, camping, hiking, and health and well-being focused activities, etc. Under general direction, manages all Recreational Opportunities within the Department, shall constantly seek and develop new and improved recreational opportunities while balancing complex management, technical, and administrative responsibilities for various recreation programs.

The Springfield Recreation Department is seeking a part-time year-round Recreation Program Coordinator to join our team to focus on activity planning for senior citizens. The position will be responsible for planning, promoting, and hosting a full monthly schedule of senior citizen exercise classes, educational programs, social meetings, bus trips, luncheons, games, and other activities. The position will also coordinate the daily senior citizen transportation service and schedule the bus drivers. Other duties include assisting with department special events, afterschool youth wing, summer programming, and secretarial duties. College graduate with recreation-related or senior citizen-related degree preferred, as well as experience working with and planning activities for senior citizens. The duties of this seasonal position include: managing the operations of the pool grounds and 2-year old clubhouse; overseeing, scheduling, and educating a staff of assistant managers, activities directors, lifeguards, maintenance staff, and front desk attendants; coordinating staff payroll and supply inventory; promoting and selling private party rentals in the clubhouse multi-purpose room and the outdoor picnic grove; regulating water chemistry and filter operations; acting as liaison between the pool and township summer camps, snack bar operator, swim team, and contracted pool users such as private camps and swim clubs; assisting with special events; interacting with pool patrons and providing professional and friendly customer service; and other duties as assigned.
