QUALIFICATIONS:  Must possess good work ethic. Must possess or be able to obtain Black Seal License. High school graduate.  Demonstrated knowledge in the safe use of mechanical equipment including: tractor and take-off equipment; lawn mowers; field groomers, paint sprayers, air compressors, impact tools, etc. and of basic hand tools including power tools: Saws, drills, grinders/sharpeners, etc.  Demonstrated knowledge and experience with equipment maintenance and repair regimens for large equipment and hand tools. This includes oil and filter changes, blade sharpening, tire repairs/replacement, equipment overhaul, etc.  Demonstrated knowledge, skills and principles of construction and building repairs: including painting and spackling, fence installations, ceiling tile replacement, sheet-rocking/spackling, etc.  Demonstrated knowledge, skills and principles of field, turf and shrubbery maintenance, athletic field setup and maintenance including initial layout, striping, grooming of fields, lawn maintenance, tree and shrub maintenance and pruning, application of fertilizer and weed control chemicals. etc.  Valid NJ Driver’s license  Black Seal Boiler Operators license may be secured after hire

Hours - 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM
Salary - in accordance with negotiated agreement.
Full time - 12-month position

Community Services Assistant (Recreation) - BOROUGH OF HIGHLAND PARK

The Borough of Highland Park is seeking a full-time Community Services Assistant to perform administrative work in support of a variety of recreational programs and community events within the Borough. Appointee will report to the Recreation Coordinator, but will also provide some support to the Office of Aging and the newly established Teen Center as needed. Responsibilities include: preparing and disseminating promotional information regarding program offerings and events via social media and other Borough outlets; utilizing and maintaining the MyRec online registration portal; and scheduling. Strong customer service skills, patience and experience dealing with various resident populations are essential for this position. Appointee must be flexible and adaptable to the changing needs of the position, working independently with little or no supervision at times.

· Must be authorized to work in the United States of America and a resident of New Jersey.
· Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job, including the ability to lift 25 pounds.
· High School Diploma or GED.
· Current and valid NJ Driver’s License
· Two years of work experience in a community center and/or recreation department, highly preferred.

George Ely Associates is seeking an experienced salesperson for distribution of commercial recreation products. Products include playgrounds, athletic equipment, and the park related items. Successful candidate will support the organization’s business objectives by building and maintaining mutually beneficial long-term relationships with clients. Effectively communicating with clients, this position will work with both an existing client base, as well as develop new business relationships through cold-calling and in-person meetings. Ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in related field or 5 years outside commission-based sales experience, 2 years professional experience in Business to Business sales and must be comfortable making outbound sales calls. Position requires travel; candidate must have valid drive license. Compensation: initial salary $30-36k. Potential earnings $60-80k.

The Somerset County Park Commission is accepting applications for seasonal maintenance workers at various locations throughout Somerset County.  Experience with hand tools and landscaping equipment a plus.
