The Vice President is the organizational leader who works directly with decision-makers at the State and federal levels as well as with NJA members and the public on policy related matters. The Vice President works in collaboration with other NJA Departments to implement the conservation mission and is part of NJA’s leadership team working with senior staff and the President to set policy and carry out the organization’s strategic plan. Commercial Recreation Sales - GEORGE ELY ASSOCIATES

George Ely Associates is seeking an experienced salesperson for distribution of commercial recreation products. Products include playgrounds, athletic equipment, and the park related items. Successful candidate will support the organization’s business objectives by building and maintaining mutually beneficial long-term relationships with clients. Effectively communicating with clients, this position will work with both an existing client base, as well as develop new business relationships through cold-calling and in-person meetings. Ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in related field or 5 years outside commission-based sales experience, 2 years professional experience in Business to Business sales and must be comfortable making outbound sales calls. Position requires travel; candidate must have valid drive license. Compensation: initial salary $30-36k. Potential earnings $60-80k.

  • Assistant Manager – looking for self-motivated person to handle day-to-day operations at the Swim Club. Duties include managing staff, scheduling, pool maintenance, handling daily membership issues, as well as swim team and swim meets. Pre-season availability on weekends in April and May is required. Evenings, weekends and holidays are required at times.  Season Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day. Hours 30-35 per week. Salary $15-20/hour depending on experience.
  • Activities Coordinator – Arts & Crafts: looking for a highly motivated and energetic individual to plan and lead arts & crafts activities for members age 4-12.  Craft projects will vary from week to week. This position will work closely with the Recreation Supervisor. Hours approximately 25-30 hours per week. There is some flexibility in weekly schedule.
  • Activities Coordinator – Sports: looking for a highly motivated and energetic individual to lead daily sports activities for members age 5-18.  Activities to include but not limited to soccer, kickball, tennis, racquet baseball, whiffle ball along with tournaments and games. Hours 25-30 hours per week (daily 12-5pm) occasional weekends. 
  • Lifeguards – minimum age 15 years old and must be certified in lifeguard, first aid, CPR and AED. Duties include monitoring pools and enforcing the rules and regulations. Must enjoy being outside. 25-30 hours per week. Weekends and evenings are required. $10/hour.
  • Gate Attendant – minimum age 16 years old. Looking for friendly and outgoing staff to handle daily duties at gate. Duties include scanning membership IDs, selling guest passes, taking ID photos, and signing out sports equipment. 25-30 hours per week. Some weekends and evenings required.  $10/hour.
  • Maintenance Staff: minimum age 15 years old. Looking for motivated to assist in keeping the facility clean for the membership. Duties include litter picking, cleaning of locker rooms, emptying garbage and recycle cans, general daily cleaning of facility. Some weekend and evenings required.  $10/hour.

The Somerset County Park Commission is accepting applications for seasonal maintenance workers at various locations throughout Somerset County.  Experience with hand tools and landscaping equipment a plus.
