Job description:

The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, Green Acres Program has an opening for an hourly (part-time) Program Specialist within the New Jersey Trails Program. This position supports the financial portion of administering Recreational Trails Program grants. The successful candidate will: review monthly cost run reports; perform quarterly and annual federal reporting; track Recreational Trails Program obligation expenditures and balances; process grant reimbursement packages; set up reserve accounts and grant orders; and perform other duties, as needed.

Division of Park Operations - Superintendent of Recreation Full Time

Duties and Responsibilities

The Superintendent of Recreation is responsible and accountable for the creation and operation of Recreational programming within the Bergen County Department of Parks & Recreation. The Superintendent shall plan, promote, organize, and implement a comprehensive recreation program addressing the passive and active recreational needs of park users of all ages. Recreational opportunities that exist within the Bergen County Parks system currently include but are not limited to: field sports, aquatics, golf, equestrian, tennis, camps, rowing, camping, hiking, and health and well-being focused activities, etc. Under general direction, manages all Recreational Opportunities within the Department, shall constantly seek and develop new and improved recreational opportunities while balancing complex management, technical, and administrative responsibilities for various recreation programs.

Education:

Bachelor's Degree required

Experience:

4 years supervisory experience

RECREATION/COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES DIRECTOR – BERNARDSVILLE BOROUGH

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AS FOLLOWS:

Plan, coordinate and direct a diversified year-round, community-wide recreation and community activities program, including the management of the municipal swimming pool. Review current program areas, implement changes or new programs to meet recreational needs of the community. Develop and implement policies, procedures and standards for efficient and effective operation and maintenance of department operations. Communicate official plans, policies and procedures to staff and the general public. Prepare and oversee annual Recreation Department budget.

DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AS FOLLOWS: Bachelor's degree in recreation, education, or physical education including coursework in organization and administration; Five years of progressively responsible experience in parks and recreation programs; CPR certified and First Aid training. Excellent computer, communication and social media skills.

The position will be responsible for planning, promoting, and hosting a full monthly schedule of senior citizen exercise classes, educational programs, social meetings, bus trips, luncheons, games, and other activities.
