(responsibilities in  addition to those stated in the constitution and by-laws and adopted Procedural Guidelines)

  1. Review and update Procedural Guidelines
  2. Plan  and conduct at least two CEU workshops a year. Publicize workshops in advance  to encourage cross-attendance.
  3. In  conjunction with the Business and Communication Coordinator, update master  calendar of events and meetings.
  4. Contact  affiliate agencies for potential partnership.
  5. Annually  coordinate at least one sponsored workshop with an affiliate organization.
  6. Each  September, call members listed on the non-renewal membership list, as provided  from the Business and Communication Coordinator.
  7. Schedule,  advertise, and conduct sessions on topics of current interest that also include  a brief NJRPA promotion at conferences such as the N.J. League of  Municipalities Conference, Governor’s Conference on Recreation for Individuals  with Disabilities, Conference of Mayors, and NJ Association of Counties  Conference.
  8. Include  NJRPA mission statement on appropriate printed materials
  9. Assist  the Vice President to develop volunteer responsibilities for all section  volunteer positions to be incorporated into the updated procedural guidelines.
  10. Assist  the Vice President to develop promotional  materials for volunteer recruitment to include: duties, commitment, benefits,  responsibilities, etc.
  11. Assist  the Vice President to include a “Volunteer  Recruitment” table in the exhibit hall at the Annual conference.
  12. Encourage  membership of the Section to be informed and involved in the activities of  NJRPA through District, Section, and Committee activities; continuing  education; and publication submissions.
  13. Provide  guidance to the Membership Committee and the Annual Conference Committee on the  service and educational needs of Section members.
  14. Seek  candidates to be nominated for the annual slate of NJRPA officers.  The Section Chair or his/her designee must  attend Nominations Committee meetings.
  15. Ensure  ongoing representation on the Board of Trustees.
  16. Prepare  an annual budget for Section activities and ensure that the Section operates  within the Fiscal Policies established by NJRPA. Determine if non-profits with  shared interests might potentially share resources.
  17. Inform  the NJRPA Public Affairs Committee of public policy issues important to Section  members.
