Scholarship Program

NJRPA provides opportunities for university and high school students to advance their education in the field of parks, recreation, conservation, and leisure services through both scholarship and a professional development support program

The NJRPA Student Scholarship is a competitive scholarship open to both current students involved in related studies at a university or college, and to high school seniors that interested in entering a parks, recreation, conservation, leisure services or related curriculum.   Applications are reviewed each winter and scholarship winners are announced at the NJRPA Annual Conference.   Applicants for the Student Scholarship must have a letter of recommendation from__________________

The Ben Shaffer Memorial Scholarship fund, dedicated to the memory of Ben Shaffer ( a playground manufacturers represented that took special interest in mentoring young professionals) provides support for university and college students desiring to attend NJRPA educational workshops, seminars and conference.   Funds are provided to participating higher education programs to distribute to support registration of NJRPA Student Members.

The NJRPA Student of the Year Award is a competitive award that recognizes the outstanding academic achievement and community involvement of a single university or college student annually. A $1,000 Scholarship is awarded to the deserving award winner.
